Enterprise application integration: seamlessly connect IT systems

End-to-end data flows and automated processes instead of isolated system landscapes.

When your IT systems do not communicate with each other

CRM, ERP, SharePoint, business applications: the more systems are in use, the more often data silos, media disruptions and manual transfer errors occur. Employees maintain the same data multiple times, reports are based on outdated information, and process changes create dependencies that are difficult to calculate.

With enterprise application integration, we connect your systems into a seamless IT landscape. Existing applications remain in place and are connected through standardized interfaces. The result: consistent data, automated workflows and a system landscape that grows with your company.

What improves with an integrated system landscape

Make decisions based on up-to-date data

All systems provide the same data status. Cross-system reporting becomes possible without manual consolidation.

Connect new systems faster

Standardized integration architectures significantly reduce the effort required for each additional connection.

Eliminate manual data maintenance

Automated data flows replace error-prone transfers and give teams more time for value-adding tasks.

Our services for your application integration

Whether you want to connect individual systems or integrate your entire IT landscape: we support you from architecture consulting to productive operation.

Integration consulting: architecture & interfaces

Our architects analyze your system landscape, identify integration needs and develop a suitable architecture concept: cloud, hybrid or on-premises. We clarify where standard solutions are sufficient and where custom development is required.

Development and rollout of your integration solution

From detailed conception to development, testing and rollout, we take care of implementation. If an architecture concept already exists, we start with a review and show concrete implementation options.

Connect legacy systems instead of replacing them

Many grown IT landscapes consist of systems that cannot simply be replaced. We also connect legacy systems to your overall architecture without complex redevelopment. Using Azure Integration Services, such as Logic Apps, Service Bus and API Management, or open-source alternatives such as RabbitMQ, we create standardized connections between old and new systems.

Our EAI framework: integrate systems without rebuilding them

For complex integration scenarios, we rely on our internally developed framework “Esperanto for EAI”. It acts as a universal translator between a wide range of systems and eliminates the need to adapt individual applications.

Instead of rebuilding existing systems at high cost, we describe the transactions between them. Our “Generic Router & Translator” module maps data flows and dependencies so that new systems can be connected quickly.

A business-oriented database model, Data Vault, enables cross-system analyses. Combined with microservices, changes can be implemented quickly and with minimal resources.

How well is your system landscape integrated?

Whether you have a specific integration project or want an initial assessment: in an architecture review, we analyze your existing system landscape and identify integration potential.

Successful integration projects by our customers

re.alto: technical foundation for Europe’s first digital energy marketplace

re.alto needed a platform that enables energy companies to exchange data and services via API. novaCapta built the entire architecture on Azure: microservices, DevOps pipeline, continuous integration and monitoring. New features can be added at any time in a scalable way.

ESA: Data Factory as the single source of truth

ESA selected novaCapta from ten European service providers to move its heterogeneous database landscape to the cloud. What started as a planned migration became a central Data Factory on Azure with real-time dashboards via Power BI. Today, all directorates work with a shared data language.

FAQs about enterprise application integration

What is enterprise application integration (EAI)?

Enterprise application integration refers to connecting different software applications within a company into a functioning overall system. The goal is to enable data exchange and collaboration between systems such as CRM, ERP and business applications without fundamentally rebuilding the individual applications. Instead of many individual point-to-point connections, EAI relies on standardized integration architectures that reduce the effort required for each additional connection.

When does enterprise application integration make sense?

EAI becomes relevant when employees maintain the same data in several systems, when reports are based on different data statuses, or when connecting new systems requires a disproportionate amount of time and effort. Typical triggers include the introduction of new systems, such as a new CRM, M&A situations in which separate IT landscapes need to be merged, or growing compliance requirements for data consistency.

What distinguishes EAI from pure data integration?

Data integration combines data from different sources in a central repository, typically in batches. Enterprise application integration goes further: it connects applications so that data and processes flow between systems in real time. This not only consolidates data, but also automates workflows across systems.

Which technologies does novaCapta use for application integration?

We primarily work with Azure Integration Services, such as Logic Apps, Service Bus and API Management, for cloud-native integration scenarios. For specific requirements, we also use RabbitMQ, microservices architectures and our internally developed framework “Esperanto for EAI”, which acts as a universal translator between heterogeneous systems. Data Vault is used as the database model for cross-system analyses.

Does novaCapta also have expertise in Microsoft BizTalk Server and can you advise us on end of life?

For many years, Microsoft BizTalk Server was a proven, robust and flexible platform for enterprise application integration, business process management and service-oriented architectures. As novaCapta, we have implemented numerous successful projects with BizTalk Server, from initial consulting and conception, including prototypes, to development, rollout and operation.

Microsoft has now announced the end of life for BizTalk Server. Mainstream support will end in April 2028, and April 9, 2030 is the extended end date. Companies that still rely on BizTalk should therefore start planning and implementing suitable migration paths at an early stage.

We support you in migrating to modern, cloud-based integration solutions. Talk to us about your next steps for a seamless, secure and sustainable transformation of your integration architecture.

What is the novaCapta framework „Esperanto for EAI”?

„Esperanto für EAI” is an internally developed integration framework by novaCapta. It describes transactions between systems using a “Generic Router & Translator” module instead of rebuilding existing systems at great expense. A business-oriented database model, Data Vault, also enables cross-system analyses. The framework reduces the development effort for new system connections and can be flexibly extended with microservices.
