Frequently asked questions about migration from Lotus Notes and HCL Connections

Can employees continue working as usual during the migration?

Yes. We use a coexistence environment that seamlessly connects Notes/Connections and Microsoft 365 during the transition phase. Employees who have already been migrated can continue working with colleagues in the old environment without restrictions.

What happens to our Notes applications?

First, we analyze and categorize all existing Notes databases. Actively used applications are migrated to suitable M365 target systems: SharePoint for documents and data, Power Apps and Power Automate for workflows and business processes. Databases that are no longer needed are cleanly archived. At Duravit, we systematically replaced more than 250 Notes applications in this way.

Are encrypted emails also migrated?

Yes. Our migration solutions support the full migration of encrypted emails. For special requirements, we use our own add-on solutions.

Can novaCapta migrate both Lotus Notes and HCL Connections in one project?

Yes. We know both HCL worlds and their respective target architectures in Microsoft 365.
